From Nature, three key remedies for our liver

Spring is associated to wood element in traditional Chinese medicine – symbolizing rebirth – and it is related to specific organs such as liver and gall-bladder. By encompassing such Oriental tradition, we should consider the idea to purify our “overloadedliver after winter and to help its correct function. Such an organ – actually the biggest gland of our body – works in a “silent” way so that we are not very familiar with its functions. Liver operates in a series of important activities: it intervenes in intestine mediated fat absorption, in endogenous cholesterol synthesis, in body cells’ feeding, in elimination of toxic substances (i.e. drugs), in coagulation factors’ biosynthesis and it represents a storing place for our essential nutrients such as iron, copper and vitamin B12. Liver is an endless chemical transformation laboratory helping near organs (pancreas, intestine and kidneys) with the final aim of wellness of the whole organism.

Upon considering the above concepts, I understand now the repeated recommendations to consume dandelion, lemon, artichokes and I’d like to thank my yoga teacher which makes me writhe to re-activate full liver functionality! According to Chinese medicine, liver is appointed to distribute energy in the whole body to the point that the frequent springtime tiredness sensation could be caused by overloaded liver. That’s why we should take care of such a precious organ!

A correct dietary habit is the actual starting point: food that increases gastric secretion and acts as tonic for the whole system could be useful.

  1. Artichoke (Cynara scolymus), known as “liver’s friend” in the old Literature, is one of the most cultivated edible plant in the World. Its extracts have been used since ancient times for hepatic disorders. Its beneficial properties – known since XVII century – are now supported also by scientific research which confirms the protective action on liver[1]. highlithing other therapeutic properties like the antioxidant and the activity in reducing lipid and glycemic content.[2] Artichokes protect and prevent oxidation on liver along with boldine (active principle of boldo),[3] vitamin E , C and minerals as Zinc and  Copper.
  2. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) which is best known as “lion’s tooth”, with its very common and typical yellow flower in meadows and countryside during springtime, boasts relevant detoxification properties on liver along with diuretic actions. Dandelion, as revealed by the common name piscialetto (the italian for bed wetter) is known since the most traditional use for its capacity to help liquid drainage, both at intestinal and kidney level along with choleretic, digestive and depurative properties useful when general detox is needed.
  3. The last ingredient I’d like to talk about is Olive (Olea europaea): a common plant widely distributed in Mediterranean areas and in Italy in particular. Both fruit and leaves are full of active principles, which are collected in the standardized olive extract, in particular oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol boast beneficial properties such as antioxidant, hepatoprotective properties [4] and help lower and protect from oxidation blood LDL (low density lipoproteins) commonly known as “bad cholesterol”, which are often involved in the problems of the circulatory system.

Very common edible plants with a typical bitter taste such as artichoke, milk thistle, gentian, dandelion are well widespread in Mediterranean areas but sometimes they are not always available on our table so we can find easily in a dietary supplement which collects them in a single capsule and is formulated to help liver functions and its equilibrium. The dietary supplement Epo Stim® by BeC Natura contains all those ingredients and it could be consumed along with Depur Plus® supplement to promote physiological intestinal function and prevent overloaded liver after winter charges in order to better enjoy the benefit Springtime!

VALU-CERT prize at BeC for organic cosmetic line Terra Biocare

img_3075On occasion of IX PHARMEXPO – the exhibition for pharmaceutical and health care products –  at Mostra d’Oltremare (Naples) on November 2016, the distinguished companies for the best communication skills of their own brand have been awarded the FARMAFFARI and VALU-CERT prizes. The latter one, named “the value of certification” was addressed to cosmetic companies with the best disclosure on certification of their organic cosmetics. Since 2005, the marketing prize FARMAFFARI – powered by AEREC (European Academia for Economic and Cultural Relations), ASSOGENERICI, ENPAF, UNICOM, AIMF, ANCTF, FEDERLAZIO – awards the best advertising in health care. The congress was organized by Dr Mariano Marotta (director of Studio SviMM – Development and Marketing) and has shown the cosmetic companies’ trend in gaining certification to better testify commitment in environment issues and guarantee the best quality to the consumer.

As a company committed to organic cosmetics, BeC has been awarded the “VALU-CERT: the  value of certification” prize for having actively put effort in disclose the importance of EcoCert certification of  the organic cosmetic line “Terra Biocare”. Dr. Oriana Chinni, responsible of cosmetics R&D received the prize along with a lithography of Massimo Pennacchini and the book “Regulatory affairs expert”.

img_2382Organic mission of BeC continues with Terra Biocare:

At BeC we have chosen Ecocert Greenlife certification for our organic cosmetics entrusting this independent certification body Ecocert aiming to develop and support those agricultural techniques that have full commitment to respect and protection of the environment. The basic principles of Ecocert standards consider that the eco-friendly cosmetics should be made only of ingredients deriving from renewable sources and produced by procedures with a reduced impact on environment. Basic requirements to be met according Ecocert accreditation are the absence of GMO (genetically modified organisms), of synthetic preservatives, of synthetic parfums, of nanoparticles, of silicones, of PEG polymers and dyes, along with ingredients from animal origin. Moreover, packaging materials are required to be biodegradable and recyclable. The ORGANIC COSMETICS label validated by Ecocert on our cosmetic products Terra biocare certifies that they contain at least 95% of ingredients of natural origin, and at least 95% of vegetable ingredients (however not less than 10% of the whole amount) comes from organic farming. Terra biocare: top quality products made for an environmentally and socially responsible life-style, in the  fullest harmony between Man and Nature.

I eat, therefore I am (the holistic view on food)

Food represents our primordial cultural code and is related not only to simple nutrition but also to the social environment, and reflects our cultural identity, customs and tradition. Is it possible for us to take control over this primitive impulse, so to avoid becoming slave to it? Food is medicine, as shown by Hippocrates, Galen and Paracelsus already long ago. If it is true, why can’t we look at what we eat as a short- or long-term wellness generator, beside being a means to satisfy our taste?

vegetablesFood modulates our infinite mental indices that are involved also in dietary disorders such as obesity. If we go in depth into this common condition affecting modern Western world we prompt realize that the excessive food consumption is caused by the overwhelming and attracting food offer – that could mislead “hunger and satiety” mechanisms – along with the lack of a “culture of wellness” which would include the culture of fitness, of exercise and of health-oriented practices.

The deepest soul issues fidget in the inner of our body: suffering from obesity in a society that privileges slim people represents a not too concealed social exclusion! For this reason, all the  disciplines aimed at “saving our souls” by chagrin or fasting have been re-introduced in eating plans based on food moderation, which seem like ways to save our identity and help our chances to be accepted,  rather than a regime to guarantee our body wellness.

The stakes aren’t so much a food reconciliation rather the real act of existing: a person who eats to exist and wants to get slimmer for the same reason is walking on the razor’s edge. Most slimming diets fail for the lack of self-confidence rather than a weak resistance to the temptation of gluttony. When food becomes a matter of existence it is given a bigger meaning than it can actually hold.

The motto “mens sana in corpore sano” (a sound mind in a sound body) should not only be intended literally: Juvenal did not state that in a healthy body lies a sound mind but that both body and mind need to be exercised in the same way. The idea that both body and mind could grow up and develop only together is also the basis of the pedagogic school model proposed by Aristotle.

Nowadays such a precept broadens its meaning in a more complex way: in order to have good soul authority we need a healthy body power (and vice versa) by virtue of the psychophysical unit.  Such a psychophysical unit is indeed the subject of the holistic sciences: every medicine, science and art that considers the human being in his entirety of body, mind and soul could be regarded as holistic. Like ecology – which deals with the global Earth and environment protection – holistic medicine focuses on the global health of the human being.

fitnessTaking care of ourselves becomes a sum of multiple actions: feeding ourselves in more natural and unpolluted ways, purifying our own feelings from negative thoughts, understanding the deep reasons of our actions, and eventually progressing both humanely and spiritually.

Stepping from a model of Nature that can provide remedies to every medical need, at BeC we’ve been inspired by traditional Eastern medicine and we’ve been trying to conjugate the ancient phytotherapeutic traditions with modern scientific research, in the constant effort to gain better and synergic results. In line with the holistic view, every dietary supplements by BeC is designed for the global wellness of the human being, hence they are not merely directed toward one single need.

If we consider that body organs are correlated one the other, then a specific focus on a single issue – ignoring the surrounding condition –  would be too superficial! For these reasons all dietary supplements by BeC are composed by complex and equilibrated mixtures providing with optimal bioavailability of nutrients, efficacy and nutritional value. Thanks to their particular composition, they could be chosen by people on different eating plans such as vegetarian, vegan,  low fat, low salt, low sugar diet. In order to maintain good health conditions it is necessary to take care of ourselves in whole: not only by regular fitness, equilibrated and well-balanced diet (in terms of proteins, carbohydrates and fats) but also by supplementing our diet with the right intake of those vitamins, minerals and micronutrients that are essential for our wellbeing. Unfortunately, more and more often such micronutrients are lacking in common diets, due to wrong storing condition of foodstuffs and prolonged cooking time.

Mint and menthol: how freshness ingredients work!

mentoloMenthol is one of the major components of mint essential oil: it has been used in therapy of respiratory disease to give relief to airways and provide a pleasant freshness sensation. For these reasons it is included in several over–the–counter medications. Only peppermint oil (Mentha  piperita L.) is described in the 8th European Pharmacopoeia despite the fact that different species of Mint are used in traditional medicine. Several benefits of Mint biocomponents are exploited in cosmetics, nutraceuticals and medicinal products. The majority of mint-based products are oral-care products (tooth paste, mouthwash) thanks to the antiseptic properties of mint actives and especially to the freshness sensation given to mouth and breath.

Which are the freshness ingredients in different mint species?

Different mint species and the corresponding essential oil varieties with their major compounds are shown in the following table. Each one is related to various olfactory notes and boasts different biological properties.

Table. Major compounds of mint essential oils from different Mint species[1].

Menthol. How does it works?

Mentha piperita generally represents the most used species in health care products due to the high amount of menthol (30%) and menthone (20%). In particular, menthol gives a freshness sensation not only on the skin but also on mucosae because it interacts with thermo-receptors such as the cold and menthol receptor  (i.e.: TRPM8, transient receptor potential ion channels) that represents the molecular transducer of cold sensation when menthol  is inhalated or applied on skin. The activation of cold receptor originates several benefits:

  1. it increases the  patency of  airways (nasal flow)
  2. it reduces the sensation of dyspnoea
  3. at low concentration,  it acts against cough

These important properties are very useful when seasonal illnesses appear with symptoms like cold, nasal congestion and cough.  Some studies on menthol include also Eucalyptus essential oil and its major compound 1,8-cineol: along with menthol, it has important properties against cough.[2]  Menthol helps to clear respiratory tract acting as expectorant: it gives temporary relief to upper airways and alleviates symptoms such as nasal congestion, sinusitis, cold and cough. Several expectorant balms contain a moderate percentage of mint essential oils or menthol since they revert congestion upon applying directly on chest.

DSC_0275_lowOur balm named Balsamo BeC, is very rich of typical terpenic balsamic components such as menthol and camphor along with the essential oils of Eucalyptus, Wintergreen and Peppermint. It provides beneficial effects and alleviate nasal congestion when applied by delicate massage on chest. The special blend of essential oils named Sinergia SA by BeC, used in hot steam aerosol represents a real decongestant help thanks to the high content of mint essential oil along with pure menthol for a synergic action in calming cough. Moreover, the balsamic blend of Mint, Chamomile, Lavender essential oils contribute to dilate bronchi. Among the precious blend of essential oils, Idrobagno I.U. is one of the most interesting product for the balsamic and vasotonic effect. Furthermore, the dermo-purifyng and anti-inflammatory action of Clove, Cypress and Lemon essential oils provide a pleasant freshness sensation when applied on head scalp and help to remove dandruff. Its antiseptic and regenerative properties is exploited also in hair care lotions by reinforcing scalp and providing a vivid and bright look to your hair.

We love scouting natural ingredient from Nature and skilfully blending them in special synergies that will became partner of your wellness.

Stressed out after holidays? Follow Nature’s quiet suggestions…

Does the alarm clock sound early in the morning take our good mood? Do we feel unfit to face those daily work duties we would like to forget for a while? When we go back to normal activities, we usually experience anxiety, peevishness, rapid mood changes and general nervousness! Don’t be dejected… let’s try to help our body and nervous system to recover the “normal routine” and keep on treasuring the summer benefits!

You should not abandon yourself to negative thoughts! Let’s follow the right lifestyle to recover our biological rhythm, and let’s pay attention to our diet and choose only those foods that help our nervous system to relax and re-equilibrate.

Tranquilla Mente3_1462981620For these reason we’d like to suggest TranquillaMente diet supplement: it represents a good support against stress when anxiety and negative thoughts keep us awake at night. The sedative and relaxing properties of Valeriana, Eschscholzia and Tilia can help us to have a more resting sleeping along with Passion flower, Hawthorn and Vitamins (B1, B6 and B12), that contribute to “mental wellness”.

Griffonia simplicifolia extract enriches our diet with 5-hydroxytryptophan, the precursor of serotonin, the neurotransmitter of central nervous system which acts as mood regulator, works in  learning and memory processes and it is known as “the good mood hormone”. Recent scientific evidences  confirm such activities of Griffonia[1], strenghtened by Hypericum, known in traditional medicine as “fugademon” (literally: shoo devils) and nowadays represents a valuable support in mood regulation. Hops improves sleeping conditions and modulate digestion whereas Lemon Balm and Eschscholzia soothe gastric somatisation of nervousness and are useful when women experience irregular sleeping during menopausa[2].

collageGroup B vitamins represent a good contribution in maintaining general equilibrium  alongside oligo-elements. Natural Iodine brought by Fucus extract contributes to the learning function and the energetic metabolism. The formula is completed by Ginkgo biloba, the plant known for its antioxidant properties useful in micro-circulation, also at cerebral level: it improves memory processes and maintains clarity of mind in making daily duties[3].

How to end your day after getting some sunshine? Three tips from Nature…

Welcome Summer! It’s time to escape from suffocating heated cities and find some cool rest on seaside, at lake or in a swimming pool! Let’s pay particular attention to sunburns, especially on first sunshine days. You shouldn’t get sunshine during the hottest hours in the day and don’t forget to protect your skin with suitable sunscreens. How to take care of your skin and nourish your entire body after a  daylong suntan? Any precaution to adopt?

protezionesolareGenerally speaking, we recommend restoring skin balance after a sunshine day and contrasting free radicals formation which increases with sun exposure. It’s better to reintegrate lost liquids by drinking a lot of water or vitamin-rich fruit juices. Concerning our diet, don’t forget to take proper amount of vitamin A, C and E, endowed with antioxidant properties and restore all lost minerals and vitamins with a light dinner.

After getting all daylong sunshine our skin might turn red and irritated despite sunscreen application. What should we do? A relaxing bath or shower with soothing actives could alleviate burning sensation and itchy, caused by sand and salt or misused sunscreen application. Cleansing our skin after suntan with a suitable product is really important not only to define suntan but only to ensure proper skin hydration. Do not misunderstand! Skin hydration is not obtained by a simple shower but the application of a good cleansing and moisturizing product could really restore skin hydration. Let’s discover how:

Bagno Doccia by BeC is designed for all skin types without SLS, SLES, preservatives, dyes and artificial perfumes. The special Malachite extract gives Bagno Doccia a unique and charming touch. Malachite was considered a sacred stone, a creativity and change symbol by Ancient Egiptians, it was utilized as make-up powder for its green-bluish color. It is always been symbolized by a female figure and is traditionally associated to a goddess. Its importance is related to Copper content, which has a recognized role in skin physiology: it stimulates fibroblasts which provide collagen and elastin. Scientific studies showed important antioxidant properties (complementarily to vitamins C and E) modulating the natural mechanisms of cellular defense.

doposolePour Bagno Doccia by BeC on water stream to give off seductive fragrance: your bath will turns in a relaxing wellness break, it wraps around your skin with a rich suds and gives a pleasant and regenerating clean sensation. The special scent of essential oils will help to regenerate and protect your skin. The special blend of essential oils with the stimulating Cinnamon and the decongestant  Peppermint gives wellness and relief after a hot sunshine day. The proper balance between mild surfactants, Oat vegetal proteins and Passion Flower oil ensures to your body a deep hygiene, good tone and moisturizing action. Thanks to Roman Chamomile essential oil and Bisabolol, endowed with soothing action against skin irritation, Bagno Doccia helps in reducing mediators of inflammatory response being particularly suited for delicate skin. Eventually, Aloe juice, rich in antinflammatory phyto-components, along with antioxidant Vitamin E, contributes to soothing action  with the final aim to calm stressed and overexposed skin.

If you love “ice effect”, I can suggest Idrobagno I.U. by BeC: pour some drops in your bath tub or upon a shower sponge and it will give you deep and regenerating coolness along with anti-fatigue and dermo-purifying action.

After a cool and restoring shower, I basically suggest to always apply the aftersun lotion with a delicate massage up to full absorption. Natural remedies against excessive water retention

Swollen legs, tiredness, tingling and water retention are common circulation problems for men and women. Beside being initially beauty problems, they can implicate several concerns. Several systematic causes can determine excessive water retention in tissues: long working hours in up-right position, a sedentary lifestyle, an excessive salt consumption, some kidney disorders,  uncomfortable shoes, high toxins stocking, drug abuse…

depurplus_collageWe can adopt several precautions to overcome these problems: during summertime we should tonify our legs with jets of cold water or enjoy frequent footbaths to reactivate slow blood circulation that can cause oedema and water retention. Further suggestions include lymphatic draining massages and frequent exercise, with a special recommendation for a genuine healthy diet. Drinking a lot of water will help stimulate tissue drainage, which should be associated to increased intake of antioxidants and vitamins – i.e. vitamin C and E, Zinc and Copper with flavonoids of Cranberry – that will contribute by protecting peripheral circulation.

Among natural remedies, diet supplement Depur Plus – which contains the above mentioned ingredients –  is designed to support the physiologic activity of the urinary tract, helping eliminate the residues of metabolic pathways and assure liquid and ionic equilibrium of our organism.

Active ingredients extracted from Cranberry act protecting and reducing inflammatory processes: they help maintain healthy kidneys and prevent the onset of infections.[1] Such an activity is strengthened by the components of Birch, a natural salicilates-rich plant with antioxidant properties,[2] along with the essential oils of Caraway, Cajeput and Juniper.

Depur PlusIn order to favour kidney function and natural purification, several other botanical extracts endowed with known diuretic properties are includedGoldenrodJava TeaMouse Ear hawkweed and Dandelion favour liquids drainage and the urinary function, and contribute to reduce liquid stasis. Moreover, dandelion extract, endowed with choleretic properties, stimulates digestion and diuresis, especially when extra detoxification is needed. The very ancient Equisetum plant, known since ages for the diuretic action, is able to accumulate special minerals in the tissues (i.e. Silicates)  to protect against pathogens’ attacks. Thanks to such ability in restore minerals, Equisetum has been used for a long time in traditional medicine for treating several bone disorder[3] and it is recommended as draining agent that will not decrease physiologic mineral stocks in our body.

Depur Plus takes care of body wellness, protects and favours normal kidney function and it could be “our ally for beauty” against liquid retention and aesthetic problems caused by cellulite. It can also complement wellness massage treatments to obtain more rapid and more satisfying results!!

Sun and age spots? How to treat them with natural cosmetics…

Sun and age skin spots are an unpleasant beauty problem featured by localized and uneven dark color distribution. They appear on face, hands and back, with the passing of years, and they are frequently correlated to wrong solar exposure. Such aesthetic conditions are often hidden by excessive and covering  make-up, especially when spots appear on face.

Perla di Luna_confezioneThe use of high protection sunscreens is the best prevention of sun-spots, but it does not fully prevent age spots’ appearance, which become much more evident as time goes by. Moreover, solar protection helps only prevent formation of new spots, but it is useless for treating the already formed spots. The complex phenomenon characterized by uneven color distribution with localized or diffuse pigmentation is generally known as hyperpigmentation: the overexpressed melanin concentrates in tiny areas of our skin, which become much more noticeable after intense UV rays exposure at the seaside or in a sunbed.

Some topical remedies, such as dermatological formulation with hydroquinone and retinoids – prescribed by dermatologists – have been used in the past for important hyperpigmentation disorders. Although effective, they were endowed with relevant toxicity, limited tolerability and harmful effects. Hydroquinone acts by means of a severe oxidative mechanism; therefore, it is not authorised in Europe since 15 years ago, for harmful effects following prolonged use. Other actives have been evaluated for their whitening activity, but resulted in harsh effects connected to inhibiting pigmentation, with the final result of  melonocites’ death (cellular apoptosis = cell’s suicide).

Alternative natural cosmetics could treat skin spots with a variety of successful lightening actives. Skin whitening cosmetics contain functional ingredients that inhibit melanin biosynthesis through different mechanisms: most important are tyrosinase inhibitors (i.e. arbutin and kojic acid) and inhibitors of melanin transfer to keratinocytes. Challenging research of new natural whitening phyto-ingredients allowed to evaluate several botanical extracts endowed with lightening activities for solar and age spots, in order to obtain active, effective and better tolerated formulations. Inhibitors of tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanin biosynthesis, represent the most used agents for depigmentation cosmetics. Among them, Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) boasts the most interesting lightening potential due to a component named Glabridin, which showed to be the most potent inhibitor of tyrosinase known so far.

In designing our innovative multi-level whitening cream Perla di Luna® we chose glabridin as principal  functional active with lightening action, combined to Melinjo extract (Gnetum gnemon): both ingredient inhibit tyrosinase directly. Moreover, the extract of Artocarpus heterophyllus (Jackfruit) and Vitamin B3 inhibit melanin transfer to keratinocytes, tackling skin hyperpigmentation. Retinol (Vitamin A), Willow and Cumin extracts with the synergic action of the essential oils favor the renewal of epidermis (cellular turnover) and natural skin exfoliation, helping remove dark spots. We combined different precious elements of Nature to counteract hyperpigmentation in a combined and synergic way, respecting skin health.

Since dark age spots normally go along with other “signs of aging”, formulation research of Perla di Luna® was focused on significant anti-age activity, taking advantage of the longstanding BeC experience and tradition in the field. The overall activities was strengthened by key essential oils, whereas Aloe juice and Hyaluronic acid were added to afford deep moisturizing activity and Ribose increases skin tone and elasticity. Vitamins E and C and Magnolia extract have anti free-radicals and anti-age activity, boosted by the vegetable oils and the unsaponifiable fraction of Olive. The special formula increases hydration, elasticity and reduce skin wrinkle in only 2 weeks!

Perla di Luna® is a synergic and effective depigmentation treatment for skin spots with multi-level action and tested efficacy in preventing the recurrence of skin dyschromia, in de-stocking accumulated melanin, in giving consistency to skin color. The special formula contributes to increasing skin tone and elasticity and reduces skin wrinkles. This effective formula with natural sunscreens (with γ-orizanol from rice as the key active component) is ideal to treat localized or diffuse hyperpigmentation, spots from sun-exposure, scars and age spots. In addition to lightening dark spots, it gives firmer, more youthful complexion with smoothing and anti aging effect. It improves skin’s elasticity with deep moisturizing action.

Perla di Luna®  gives your skin the brightness and perfection of the most precious pearls!

Getting a perfect suntan: things we should do immediately

Even if this May has so far been a little uncertain, the good season is coming and, with it, also the first sunshine and the consequent desire for suntan. Indeed, a beautifully tanned skin is often perceived as healthier and more seductive, therefore it is understandable that both men and women are attracted by it, but we should not forget the good rules to be followed to achieve a beautiful suntan that will also be long-lasting and, more importantly, really healthy.

Scrub

From proper nutrition to body pampering, there are some strategies we should start adopting immediately, if we want to develop a nice tan and glow all the summer long and beyond! Indeed, exposing to sunlight with the proper preparation – which includes the use of a sunscreen – will improve our health and mood, beside contributing to our beauty. The reason is Vitamin D: a real blessing for our immune system.

Savage suntanning, beside being out-fashioned, is actually unhealthy and was shown to be the main cause of early skin ageing. The keyword for a perfect tan is “gradually”. Suntanning is a natural skin protection process (let’s keep it in mind!), therefore exposing too harshly, for too long and without adequate skin preparation can cause minor issues, such as uneven tan, to more serious issues, such as sunburns, erythema and photo-aging.

Oxidative stress is the result of an unbalance of the delicate equilibrium between physiological production of free radicals (also caused by exposure to specific environmental factors like sunlight, radiations, pollution and xenobiotics) and the body antioxidant defenses. Whatever your photo-type is, it is highly recommended that, at least one month before exposing to sunlight, you start building up the reserve of antioxidants by eating antioxidant food. The easiest way to intake these precious elixirs is a diet rich in fruit and vegetables with red, orange or yellow peel or pulp. Enjoy them raw, so to get the best of their properties – eating them with their peel would even be better – in the form of salads, smoothies, gazpachos or fruit salads.

Alternatively or additionally, you can take a specific diet supplement for 30 days at least. Radical Stop® by BeC is a supplement of vitamins, minerals and vegetable extracts and is a precious aid to contrast cell ageing processes induced by free radicals. Dosed in vegetable gelatin capsules, hence ideal also for people on vegetarian or vegan diet, it can be a valuable supplement in our daily nutrition, as it enriches our diet with extremely important elements to maintain cell integrity and fight ageing, to protect our body and help prevent the many pathologies which have been shown to be, directly or indirectly, related to excess free radicals (among them cardio-vascular diseases, liver affections, etc). Particularly useful to fight free radicals are vitamins A, C and E, which trap these highly reactive species, thereby protecting our cellular structures from their aggression. Extremely important are also the vegetable extracts provided by Radical Stop®, such as the extracts of Blood Orange, Olive, Grape, Pine bark, and Blackberry, especially rich in tannins, bio-flavonoids, and other polyphenolic compounds, able to revert the action of free radicals.

maggio_senzascrittaIt should, however, be kept in mind that a proper diet and the intake of diet supplements cannot replace the sunscreen, which needs to be used in all cases to avoid sunburns, erythema and photo-aging.

In order to prepare skin to sunlight, we also need to work from outside. A deep scrub, at least once a week, will remove dead cells from your skin, making it smoother, free to deeply breeze and ready for sunlight.

Geo green by BeC is a body mud-mask based on natural silt with skin-purifying action, ideal to remove the “winter layer”,  since it offers a delicate and physiological peeling that will remove from skin those impurities that have accumulated in wintertime. Its special formula rich in vegetable oils and extracts brings hydration and trophic activity, aiding epidermis renewal and leaving the skin smooth and silky. Furthermore it is an excellent aid to drain liquids and help cellulite’s treatments, thanks to the extract of Ivy, Fucus, Birch and Boswellia, which shape and tone our silhouette, making it firmer and helping us successfully pass the stressing “bath-suit test”.

The final secret is to apply everyday a good moisturizing cream and, after a day of sunbathing at the seaside, a specific aftersun lotion that will help sooth possible reddening. Indeed, suntan will rapidly fade away if it is not taken care of. This happens because of the continuous renewal or outer epidermis layers, with continuous removal of dead cells. However, de-hydration would accelerate the process and favor the peeling of tanned epidermis. By using a moisturizing product since the first sunlight exposure, we can, instead, slow down the peeling process and greatly extend the duration of our even suntan.

SÉ® body cream by BeC, thanks to its emollient and moisturizing principles, helps re-establish the physiological skin balance, particularly for dry, dehydrated or cracked skin. Furthermore, thanks to the extract of Centella that stimulates the biosynthesis of collagen, and tanks to the extract of Echinacea that inhibits the degradation of hyaluronic acid, SÉ® increases skin elasticity and inhibits the free radical processes that would damage collagen and elastin, thereby contrasting stretch marks. Aescin extracted from horse chestnut works synergically with Rutin (from rue) in protecting blood vessels and reducing edema, improving peripheral microcirculation and giving relief to swollen legs. Its smooth texture and the rapid absorption, along with 100% natural fragrance on citrus and almond notes, will make your skin silky smooth and sensual.

A healthy and golden suntan is to be gained before exposing to sunlight. As summertime is coming, start pampering yourselves with specific and effective products, so to fully enjoy sunlight beneficial action and get a glowing suntan that will turn your friends jealous.

Springtime: let’s take care of our hands and feet!

PiediManiHave you ever thought about how hands are important in our life? Hands clearly substitute a missing word in a conversation,  give love with a caress, carry out our daily activities. Our hands powerfully communicate: they are our business card. They barely lie to us about age and they reveal evidently age’s signs, when detracted.

How many times our hands are subjected to continuous injuries? Let’s think about the simple gesture of washing hands with ice-cold water, changing suddenly from warm to frozen places during winter or using harsh detergents in home cleaning activities. After such a harsh treatment, our hand skin become certainly red and dry. Our skin – being the first defense barrier – is made of hydro-lipidic film, which naturally protects our hands from environmental changes but it has a limited resistance. Our hands are more fragile than other body areas due to the limited amount of sebaceous glands, that make them more subjected to dryness. Moreover, they are always exposed to sunlight, also during winter.

You should everyday protect hands from external injuries, re-equilibrating natural hydrolipidic protective film with the aid of a suitable nourishing and moisturizing cream.

The hand cream GlovÉ is a complete wellness treatment for hands with protective, moisturizing and elasticizing action. maniepiedi_aprileFeet deserve equally our attention especially during springtime when they usually are exhibited. Even if they are in the spotlights during summertime, they should not be detracted during the rest of the year. In foot reflexology, body shape is compared to a tree: roots correspond to feet, trunk is our spinal column whereas leaves are represented by face. According to this methodology feet maintain the microcosm of human being so that they should be kept stable and healthy. If they are neat and beautiful, they could be appealing, especially when uncovered.

In spite of not being so prominent, feet should paid a special attention too. C.R.P. foot cream is  specifically designed to give relief to tired feet and attenuate problems related to strong dryness, such as hard skin and calluses. Talc, with the absorbing action, reduces abundant sweat whereas Tea Tree oil and the antiseptic essential oils help in protecting feet from mycosis and from excessive bacterial proliferation caused by closes shoes.

Beauty wakes up during springtime! Let’s take time to regenerate and shine our hands and feet with dedicated specific treatments.
